This past weekend, I celebrated my 40th birthday—a milestone that, for many, feels significant in ways other birthdays don’t. For me, it certainly did. Each year, I take time to reflect on what I’ve accomplished and overcome. However, this year, my reflection went deeper. I found myself thinking not just about the past year but about the lessons I’ve learned over my lifetime. I decided to distill them into 40 pieces of wisdom I could share.
As I look back on the past five and a half years as an entrepreneur (yes, the “half” matters!), I realize just how much I’ve learned—not just about ghostwriting, publishing books, or working with people but about myself. I often tell people that if you want to truly heal, try starting your own business while raising two kids on your own. There’s no better crash course in personal growth. When your back is against the wall, with no choice but to confront your issues, you face them head-on. That’s what entrepreneurship has done for me—it’s held up a mirror, forcing me to deal with insecurities, self-sabotage, fear, worthiness, and more.
Ironically, I’m not where I imagined I’d be in my business by now, and yet, I’m okay with that. When I started, I had boundless motivation and believed success would come simply by feeling it hard enough, but I’ve learned that you can’t skip steps. There’s a process—one that refines you, strengthens you, and prepares you not just to reach your goals but to sustain them when you do.
Looking back, I’m in awe of the woman I’ve become. The challenges I once saw as setbacks were really the tools God used to shape me. This journey has cost me a lot—breaking generational curses and toxic cycles in my family, raising my kids alone, and letting go of my old self. Yet, through the loss, I’ve gained so much more: clarity of purpose, a stronger faith, and a path that’s led me to ghostwriting—helping others share their stories in books to heal and inspire.
Where there is light, darkness cannot exist. But the path to light often requires navigating through darkness first. If my journey can help you carry your torch a little brighter, then every step has been worth it.
"Per Aspera Ad Astra"- Latin phrase that means "Through hardships to the stars."

On Entrepreneurship

30. Laughter really is the best medicine—don’t take life too seriously.
On Faith and Purpose
31. God can turn your pain into purpose if you surrender it to Him.

33. God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with ours.
34. The lessons in the wilderness prepare you for the promised land.
35. You don’t have to have all the answers; God is the answer.
36. Trusting God means letting go of control—easier said than done, but worth it.
37. Your story matters to God; He can use every broken piece for His glory.
38. Community is essential; don’t isolate yourself in tough times.
39. Love is the greatest commandment for a reason—it heals more than you realize.
40. Gratitude shifts your perspective from what’s missing to what’s abundant.
To everyone reading this: don’t be afraid to step into your purpose, embrace your story, and trust that God is working all things together for your good. Romans 8:28 (NIV):
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Here’s to another 40 years of growth, faith, and grace. Thank you for being part of my journey.
